Haiku D'etente

---Part 1
The hockey lockout
May end? Compromise only
Comes gun to the head?

--Part 2
P.S. Apathy
Dominates the response to
hockey's suicide.

Three haiku

Hayden Christensen
and Lucas dialogue destroyed
the Star Wars prequels

---

Howard Dean leads Dems!
Desperation sounds like a
Vermont doctor's scream.

--

Steroids inflated
Bodies, home run totals...now
Canseco's wallet.

A new poem

The Hardness of Apprehension

Tears of laughter...or was it outright skepticism?
A dimension previously unknown - now flouted.
To be apprehended (known) is no easy thing
And so we want it all the more.

Serious/straightlaced/conservative
Brash/good-time charlie/liberal
Southern/sport-ish/high fat & calories
Urban/intellectual/sushi & vegetables

Dimensions still becoming known (to me)
Everyone is multi - but are we open to being

Known.

some skies are hazy
but better than cloudy skies?
can't see either way

Ode to self (first haiku):

poetry - no rules
doesn't mean it cannot suck
or even matter

another:

derivativeness
splendid for the calculus
bane of pop culture
